Ahau is a Mayan Day Glyph. The Maya had a very complex time-keeping system. They meshed a 260 day count (thought to be the length of a human pregnancy) with the approximate year of 365 days. It consisted of 18 named months. The months and days could be expressed as the face of a god as well as by means of a number.

I felt attracted to these Mayan glyphs because they are very graphic and very mysterious.
