ANTLERED DREAMS (61 x 61 cm) £375
This painting was inspired by a poem I wrote after walking my children to school one blustery January morning. The pavement was covered in twigs that looked exactly like antlers and this gave me a vision of Spirit Deer running through London all night as we sleep.
The Winds of Change// Sweep through London// The Winds of Change// Dance hand in hand with the Rains// Windfalls and Waterfalls// Things dropping from trees// Walking the boys to school// There are antlers on the pavement// Forked branches of trees// Antlers of Spirit Deer// Do they run through our cities at night?// Do they carry dreaming children on their backs?// Do they leave their antlers?// As an invitation or initiation?// The boys and I // Pick up those antlers and wear them// We become deer// Running with the winds// Sweeping through London// Then we antlered ones// Return our antlers to the streets// So other can run with Spirit Deer// Into the Winds of Change// On the streets of London
THE MIDNIGHT SUN (61 X 61 cm) £375
Sometimes we need to make a journey into unknown lands within our own soul to come face to face with our innate Divine Light and the "Midnight Sun that never sets" within ourselves. This is the Eye of the Storm, the eternal part of us that we catch glimpses of in dreams
CROW WOMAN (61 X 61 cm) £425
I work closely with Crow and often catch glimpses of a Crow Mother or Crow Woman as an expression of the Dark Goddess, related to the Dark Moon, who knows the great feminine secrets of waxing and waning, of Life and of Death
THE MOTHER OF DREAMS (61 X 61 cm) £375
This painting was inspired by a dream I had after visiting the Sami people in Northern Norway who are reindeer herders. The Great Reindeer Goddess appeared one night and told me that she is the Mother of Dreams
ANTLERED BABY (61 X 61 cm) £375
This painting too, just like Mother of Dreams, came from a dream I had after visiting the Sami people in Northern Norway who are reindeer herders. The dream was ultimately mysterious but showed me the essence of human beings growing golden antlers and dissolving the separation beween humans and animals. By reclaiming our animal selves we will once again learn profound respect for allsentient beings.
URSA MAJOR - SEVER BEARS, SEVEN SEERS (80 x 100) £415
This painting is based on esoteric knowledge that claims that the seven starts of the Ursa Major Constellation in the night sky (also known as The Plough or The Big Dipper) represent seven ancient sages or seers (Rishis) in the night sky. The virtues of those seven Rishis or seven sages are extolled in many places in the Vedas and Hindu literature.
PATHWAY OF BIRDS (80 X 100 cm) £450
In many Northern and Eastern European languages the Milky Way is called the Pathway of Birds, (e.g. Finnish, Lithuanian, Estonian etc.) It has been demonstrated that migrating birds use the night sky and Milky Way for orientation when they fly at night
WOMAN WITH A BEEHIVE Path of Pollen Painting
This is a painting inspired by the mysteries of European bee shamanism and the following comment:
... Says Husband: of course you can keep bee hives in our garden - if you wear a bee hive on your head as well ...
ROMANIAN CAROL (61 X 61 cm) £375
This painting was inspired by a mysterious and beautiful Romanian legend that (sadly!) I have not been able to find again.
ANUBIS - THE WEIGHING OF THE HEART CEREMONY
(61 X 61 cm) £425
Ancient Egyptians believed that people accumulated good and bad deeds in their heart during a human lifespan. If people lived a good life then in the the moment of death their heart would be as light as the Feather of Truth that the goddess of Justice, Balance and Divine Order (called Ma'at) wore on her head. Once the mummification process was complete the Ba (or soul) of a person travelled to the Duat (Underworld) for the Weighing of the Heart Ceremony. Their heart was weighed against the Feather of Truth. If the heart was light enough, the person went to a wonderful place in the Afterlife (with Isis and Osiris). If the heart was found too heavy, the goddess Ammut (Devourer or Soul-Eater) would swallow the soul and that would be the end. TheJackal-headed god Anubis performs this ceremony.
THE ABSENCE OF THE DEAD IS THEIR WAY OF APPEARING
Personification of Death (80 x 100 cm) £485
(Personification of Death. Painting inspired by a book by Mary Winfrey Trautman but the actual title words are by Simone Weil)
This painting was inspired by a dream where a goddess representing (or personifying) Death appeared and returned the bodies of dead souls to Mother Earth with immense gentleness and compassion. This way human bodies return to their Ultimate Mother (Mother Earth) and their souls are free to return to the Spirit World and continue their larger cosmic journey.
THE CROW GODDESS SOARING OVER LONDON
Crow is one of my power animals and the Crow Goddess or Crow Mother (see also the Crow Woman painting in this same gallery) is one of my allies. She is Medicine Woman, Winged Woman, Dark Mother. She transmutes darkness. She wraps her wings around all that needs protection.
